Landscape Outside Corinth
MK439
About This Work
Sun-baked ochre earth stretches toward the ancient walls of Corinth, pale hills receding into a lavender horizon.
There's a deep quiet to this place. The ground rolls away from us in warm, sun-baked earth, leading toward low rocky forms—maybe the suggestion of old walls. Beyond them, soft hills fade into a sky washed with lavender at the horizon. The only green is muted, like olive or sage clinging to the soil. The brushwork lets you feel it all. Granular, parched earth under a light that falls from high above, then the way the air itself seems to soften everything in the distance. Nothing moves. Time settles into the heat, and the silence carries the weight of the place.
