Zagora View Towards Below
M1279
About This Work
Zagora descends in tiers below, its rooftops stepping down toward a pale, hazy horizon.
There's a deep quiet to this view, a warmth that has settled over everything. From up here, the gaze moves across clustered houses, down through terraced slopes of olive green, and out to a soft horizon where land meets a hazy wash of blue. Sun-bleached walls and warm ochres give the buildings their weight. Earthy paths thread between dry-stone walls, finding cool patches of shadow. The paint itself seems to change as it travels—solid on the rooftops, then loosening to let the foliage breathe. The light falls from high, cutting sharp edges into stone and letting shadows pool in the lanes. A quiet settles over the slope, and it feels like time has slowed.
